Product Features
- ⚡ Uninterrupted Power Switching: Automatically switches to battery power the instant mains power is cut — zero delay, zero interruption for connected devices.
- 💡 Onboard LED Status Indicators: At-a-glance LEDs show charging, fully charged, and output status at all times.
- 🛡️ Multi-Layer Protection: Built-in safeguards against overcharge, over-discharge, overcurrent, and overtemperature keep both the board and your battery safe.
- 🔋 Parallel Battery Expansion: The onboard battery holder supports multiple cells wired in parallel for greater capacity and more stable charge/discharge performance.
- 🔌 Dual Power Input Modes: Connect via USB Type-C or a DC 5V barrel — whichever suits your setup.
- 🎛️ Three Output Voltage Options: Choose HW-465A (5V), HW-465B (9V), or HW-465C (12V) to match your project's requirements.
Ideal Applications
- Home and office routers & network switches
- CCTV / security camera systems
- Infrared alarm and monitoring equipment
- DIY electronics and maker projects requiring UPS backup
- Any low-power device needing a reliable 5V, 9V, or 12V supply
How to Use
- Connect an 18650 lithium cell to the rear battery holder (observe correct polarity — positive to positive, negative to negative).
- Connect your 5V input power source to the Type-C or DC input port.
- Connect your load device to the UPS output (+/−) terminals.
- The red output indicator will light up. Plug in a phone charger/cable to the Type-C port to begin charging; the LED will indicate charging or full-charge status.
- When input power is removed, the board instantly switches to battery supply. Output protection activates if the battery discharges below 2.5V, if overheating occurs, or if an overload is detected (red light flashes). Re-connect 5V input to reset.
⚠️ Important Notes:
- Always follow the wiring diagram — incorrect wiring may damage the board.
- Ensure battery polarity is correct before powering on.
- If simultaneous charging and discharging generates excessive heat, improve ventilation or add a heatsink.
- If output protection trips due to a wiring error, correct the fault then reconnect 5V input to restore output.
- Input power supply should provide at least 3A for normal simultaneous charge-and-supply operation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does the 18650 UPS module come with a battery included?
A: No — the battery is not included. You will need to purchase a compatible 18650 lithium cell separately. Please confirm this before ordering. The board is designed to work with standard 18650 cells and the rear holder supports parallel connection of multiple cells for expanded capacity.
Q: What output voltage version should I choose for my router or switch?
A: Most home routers operate on 12V DC, making the HW-465C (12V / 1.2A) version ideal. Network switches and some routers use 9V, so the HW-465B (9V / 1.6A) is a good fit for those. For 5V USB-powered devices, choose the HW-465A (5V / 3A). Always check your device's rated input voltage before selecting a version.
Q: How fast does the board switch to battery power when mains is disconnected?
A: The switchover is essentially instantaneous — there is no detectable delay when mains input is interrupted. The board automatically transitions to battery supply, keeping connected devices running without restarting or losing data.
Q: Can I connect multiple 18650 batteries to increase backup time?
A: Yes. The onboard battery holder supports parallel connection of multiple 18650 cells. Wiring cells in parallel increases total capacity (mAh) and provides longer backup runtime while maintaining the same voltage, ensuring stable and sufficient charging and discharging performance.
