Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What sizes are included in the 4-piece putty knife set?
A: The set includes 4 putty knives in different blade widths, allowing you to handle a wide variety of tasks — from precise detail work in narrow corners to broad spreading and scraping across large wall surfaces. The exact widths may vary slightly by batch, but the assortment is designed to cover the most common DIY and professional applications.
Q: Are the stainless steel blades flexible or rigid?
A: The set typically includes a mix of blade flexibilities. More flexible blades are ideal for applying and feathering plaster or joint compound, while stiffer blades excel at scraping paint and lifting wallpaper. This combination makes the 4-piece set a comprehensive toolkit for surface preparation and finishing.
Q: Is this putty knife set suitable for removing wallpaper?
A: Yes! The stainless steel blades are thin enough to slip under wallpaper edges for efficient removal without gouging or damaging the wall surface underneath. The comfortable grip handles also make extended wallpaper removal sessions much more manageable.
Q: How do I clean and maintain the putty knives?
A: Simply wipe the stainless steel blades clean with a damp cloth after use. For dried materials, soak briefly in warm water before wiping. Dry thoroughly before storing to keep the blades in top condition. The stainless steel construction means they won't rust with proper care.
