Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How does the Sound Activated Compression (SAC) circuit work on this tactical earmuff?

A: The SAC circuit continuously monitors incoming sound levels. When a sharp, high-decibel sound — such as a gunshot — is detected, the circuit automatically suppresses it within just 0.02 seconds, protecting your hearing. At the same time, lower-level sounds like conversations and range commands are amplified through the two omni-directional microphones, keeping you aware of your environment without removing the earmuffs.

Q: What batteries does this electronic shooting earmuff use, and are they included?

A: This earmuff is powered by 2 × AAA batteries, which are not included in the package. Standard AAA alkaline batteries are readily available and easy to replace in the field.

Q: Can this tactical earmuff be folded for easy storage and travel?

A: Yes! The headset features a foldable metal wire frame headband that collapses into a compact form, making it convenient to pack in a range bag, tactical kit, or carry-on for travel. Its lightweight 0.98 lb design also makes it comfortable to wear for extended periods.

Q: Does the earmuff have an audio input jack for connecting external devices?

A: Yes, the W3 tactical earmuff includes an audio input jack, allowing you to connect external devices such as a radio or media player, adding versatility for field communication or entertainment between sessions.
